QuoVadis Achieves WebTrust Audit Compliance for Eighth Consecutive Year
15 Jul 2013

QuoVadis has successfully completed its eighth annual WebTrust Seal of Assurance for Certification Authorities (CAs) audit, conducted by Ernst & Young.

In addition, QuoVadis was one of the first CAs to complete the new WebTrust Seal for Baseline Requirements audit for compliance with the CA/Browser Forum “Guidelines for Baseline Requirements for the Issuance and Management of Publicly-Trusted Certificates”, an international standard outlining core security practices for CAs that issue SSL certificates.

QuoVadis also renewed its audit for the WebTrust Seal for Extended Validation (EV), the international standard for enhanced identity vetting in SSL certificates.

“Recent years have seen rapidly changing threats facing CAs, and QuoVadis has invested heavily to protect our infrastructure and our customers’ use of digital certificates. QuoVadis is firmly committed to international certifications like WebTrust that validate our security and identity vetting practices,” said Barry Kilborn, Chief Risk and Compliance Officer of QuoVadis.

WebTrust was established by the American Institute for Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants (CICA) as a code of practice for CAs issuing publicly trusted digital certificates. The audits cover practices surrounding customer authentication, security surrounding the certificate issuance infrastructure, business continuity, and handling of customer data.

In addition to its WebTrust Seals, QuoVadis is accredited as a Qualified Certification Services Provider (CSP) in the Netherlands, Switzerland, and Bermuda under ETSI TS 101.456 and other relevant standards.
