Dutch Government Entities Ready for e-Invoicing
20 Dec 2010

The Ministry of EL & I and Staatstoezicht op de Mijnen, Agentschap NL and Agentschap Telecom are ready to receive electronic invoices. These public sector entities hereby meet the Cabinet decision of July 9, 2010 that entitles companies to submit e-invoices by January 1, 2011.

Also Agentschap Basisadministratie Persoonsgegevens en Reisdocumenet (BPR) and the Ministry of Defence are successfully connected to DIGIPOORT the government digital portal, through which e-invoicing is made possible. The entire list of agencies that are ready, or are preparing, to receive e-invoices is available on the Logius website, see http://www.logius.nl/producten/projecten/e-factureren/wie-doen-er-mee.

Ministries are obliged to accept electronic invoices from commercial organisations by January 1, 2011.  E-invoices are sent through DIGIPOORT, the electronic post office of the government. DIGIPOORT offered by Logius is a feature of the e-government service.  E-invoicing is a project of the Ministry of Economic Affairs, Agriculture and Innovation (EL & I).  This ministry wants all public authorities to be ready by 2018 to receive electronic invoices via DIGIPOORT. Volumes are estimated at 15 million invoices a year by 2018.
